I'm definitely a fan of Cracker Barrel - I know what to expect when I pull into any CB parking lot. I love the great food, the awesome service, and the cute little shop to lounge around in if you need to wait for a table. Cracker Barrel is good for breakfast in the middle of the day or late at night, and is always good for the most excellent sweet tea. The only thing I'd change about Cracker Barrel locations is better signage from the interstate and main roads to get to the restaurant...I've made more than one wrong turn trying to get to that yummy goodness.

I do not think it is even possible to count how many times that I have been to Cracker Barrel. It is, however, possible to count how many times that I have been to Cracker Barrel and eaten something other than breakfast. One. One time. Why? I really have no idea. It just has something to do with pulling into the lot and thinking that Cracker Barrel equals breakfast. Breakfast crack. It must be the biscuits. And I generally will not eat biscuits. Anywhere. not even those Pillsbury Grands biscuits. Or maybe that is why I will not eat biscuits. But I digress. This Cracker Barrel is not very different from any other. Except they are a touch more difficult to get into. Usually they make it simple to find the entrance to the parking lot and from there, the store. Here it is a turn from the freeway exit, a short drive, a turn into a shopping center, another turn into a sub-parking lot and then around the building and you are finally there. Once inside, service is about the same as always. Maybe slower. Portions are about the same as always. Maybe smaller (that could be the same across the board - it has been a while since we have been). And when we are done, we pay, browse the kitschy store up front and try to figure our way back through the parking lot and back onto the freeway. All-in-all very nondescript and non-memorable.

predictable and reliable good food. portion is so large that we always share...with drinking water, two adults are in and out for $10 plus tip. it's cheaper than fast food and much better (and can be healthier). grilled catfish and lima beans are my favorite items.

The Cracker Barrel shop was well stocked and had an assortment of offerings for those who enjoy the Country themes. The staff was helpful and nice. The restaurant section was not as enjoyable as the store. The first thing that really turned me off to the experience was the server and her obnoxious constant bothering. She must have returned to the table 6 times prior to our actual order, and each time she became more and more irritated that we were not yet ready to order. Once the order was placed she did disappear for a moment, but then returned to badger some more. I ordered off of the breakfast menu and the food arrived quickly. However, most of what I ordered was horrible. The hash brown casserole was hard and tasted as if it had been sitting all day. The pancakes had an odd metallic aftertaste. And the bacon was as hard as the chair. If you are looking for a greasy bowl type of restaurant skip the Barrel.

After we arrived in Charlotte, met my parents, got our luggage, and picked up the rental car, we figured it was time to get some chow. I had located a Ryan's family buffet on "Yelp" in the Ft. Mill area off of I-77. Probably because we all were STARVING, Ryan's ended up being a phantom restaurant (or maybe it vanished into the South/North Carolina vortex), forcing us to make a decision literally on the fly (drive) to find a new place to eat. Fortunately, the old faithful and ever present Cracker Barrel was there to save the day. Thankfully, the restaurant was practically empty and we were greeted and seated immediately. Sadly, our server seemed to have NO desire to be there whatsoever. She was short with my parents, who are older and tend to ask tons of questions, and acted as if we were inconveniencing or bothering her. This was f'n frustrating especially after the experience with United Airlines earlier that day. In all fairness, this server is the exception to the rule when it comes to Cracker Barrel service, and, frankly, this was my first negative experience EVER with them. My parents insisted on paying and leaving the tip (if it were up to me, I would have left NADA). Now to the positives: Fantastic selection of comfort food with options to customize meals. HUGE portions. Very nice flavors. *** My Rueben sandwich was delicious **** The children's menu offered numerous choices. There was a fire in the fireplace, which delighted my girls as it was cold outside. We love the rustic appeal to the place. They have large tables, so bring the kin folk. Easy access to the freeway. Ample parking. Lots of knickknacks and snacks in the gift shop. Fun rocking chairs and checkers on the front porch.

My colleague and I were seated just prior to the lunch rush. We sat in the dining room for over 20 minutes as if we were invisible. We finally got up and left. No one seemed to notice or care. That's a shame for what is typically a much better Cracker Barrel experience.

My husband and I go to Cracker Barrel everytime we go to the east coast. The food is good and the price is cheap. Love those buscuits and gravy... They have a little store which you can shop while waiting for your table. The staffs are really nice and very helpful.

I'm not sure you'll find another general store that can fill your belly like Cracker Barrel does. The size of these breakfasts are not for the faint of heart...literally, you might actually burst an artery. Cracker Barrel brings a mix of Southern charm and Midwest nice to the freeways of the US. The CB sign can be seen on just about any lengthy drive throughout the southeast...and you know we've all eaten there before. This location is much like the others around the country (tons of knickknacks, old time candy and soda/pop/coke, and some local souvenirs), except the front of the building is facing the freeway. You can't really see it...and you drive into the parking lot looking at the back of the building. Not the greatest planning for appearance. The food is always comforting and consistent. It's not going to knock your socks off...but it may make you pop a button or two. I am an adventurous person when it comes to eating...but I always seem to order the same breakfast at Cracker Barrel..."Grandpa's Country Fried Breakfast." Two eggs over medium with grits, homemade Buttermilk Biscuits with their sawmill gravy, hashbrown casserole, and chicken fried chicken (this is essentially a fried chicken cutlet). The service here is warm and friendly...but this place gets packed on the weekends, so don't expect the servers to babysit your kids. They are also servers, not payment takers. You do that at the front of the general store. Cracker Barrel is a solid place to grab some food and enjoy it. I've never been disappointed and will come back from time to time. Try: Getting the little ones to share a kids meal...unless they double-fist silverware on the regular Avoid: High expectations on the biscuits...they're just so-so

Nice waitress amazingly bad experience on wait time. Table of 6 had a wait time of almost and hour, will not be back and will communicate to family an friends my experience. One neighborhood eatery that I will avoid and head next door to OCharlies or across town to Yolks, or stay home and eat cereal in the future.
